UPDATED PICS BELOW
After doing my research for past several months, i finally decided to order Tanabe touring medalion exhaust for my coupe. I was running Injen TD SES for almost a year, which i loved it but, as time goes i was looking for a change of sound & so had to place the order & finally got the tanabe yesterday.
This is the first tanabe product i ever bought, & i must say the craftman ship of the exhaust is definetly top notch. Well if everything goes well, this afternoon i am getting the exhaust installed by Z-performance.
Now i have a quick question for you guys, allthough i did all the search that i could possibly could, however looking for a straight forward answer. And so my question is not that i was being cheap or anything but, with the new exhaust i didn't order the Y-Pipe. My whole intention was to use the oem y-pipe with the tanabe exhaust. However the shop that's installing my exhaust they just happens have a brand new tanabe Y-pipe in stock for the retail price of 399.00. Now i am thinking should i go ahead & get the Y-pipe also or should i stay with the oem Y-pipe. The only down part is after installing the exhaust is basicly if i later on if i decided to get the tanabe Y-pipe well, i have pay for labor again. The benefit here is i can get everything done at once. But, ever since yesterday i have spoke to few of my mechanic buddies & they recommend that i might as well use the oem Y-pipe instead of spending $399.00 for a Y-pipe with unnoticiable hp gain. Anyways to make the long story short...what you all suggest.

stick with your oem ypipe. i don't like how the tanabe y-pipe is shaped. only y-pipe i'd ever buy is the jic one. even then, i'd be reluctant to buy an aftermarket y-pipe.
save yourself $400 bucks and buy something more useful. or...give mw 1/2 and i'll buy something useful for myself
you're going to love the tanabe exhaust! well...i do!

I say get it all done in one shot. Its true that the tanabe Y pipe has more bends than the JIC, but no Y pipe is going to make more significant power over another. If you are really looking for a straight through Y pipe, I recommend Ultimate Racing Y pipe.
Take allot of pics of the touring exhaust as i'm interested in it too =^D

i'm just saying if i HAD to buy a ypipe, lol..if someone forced me to, i'd get the jic one. but i didnt know about that one you mentioned. looks similar to the top secret y pipe, which is way too expensive (thus i didnt mention it).

your wheels are sick man!! I say you get some test pipes or hfc's while you're at it. Good idea in not bothing with a tanabe y-pipe, isn't it just like the ebay ones??

Never mind, today i went and got the Tanabe Y-pipe also...And i am glad i made that decision or else it would have been a regret. Anyways after installing the Y-pipe now the exhaust sound became little louder but very deep tone. As far as power gain it definetly pull hard at high end. I am gonna have JapTrix dyno my car next week..will post the results.
