04' Sport Coupe Intake/spacer

I just added my Z-tube with K&N drop in filter on my 04' 6mt sport coupe and was satisfied with the way it grunts(the old OEM filter was really dirty).... What is with that "power duct" I took it off and it's much louder now. I know that aftermarket intakes dont do anything for performance, just for sound.... but would the stillen cai system be louder than my setup (because of the cone filter)? I want more growl under wot...

For the 04' non-revup.... what is the best spacer/ intake combo to get a deep growl. Is the mrev not suggested for my setup because its non-revup?

Is the 5/8 Skunk2 spacer too big? Will it run lean?

Does anyone have the stillen cold air box w/ popcharger filter? Does it fit np?

btw... I havent reset the ecu... will that help any?

Thx guys

I have the '04 6mt coupe also & i think i'm gonna with the stillen cold air box with z-tube. I don't think reseting the ecu after the intake would do much.
As far as the spacer goes, i'm not sure which is best for us. But Tony at Motordyne will let you know.

I would definitely opt for a Motordyne spacer. There are plenty of satisfied owners here with regard to the MD products. Many of the MD reviews are accompanied with independent dyno data, which reflect good gains.

The JWT Popcharger cone filtering element, in lieu of the K&N cone filter, fits perfectly with Stillen Hi-Flow Air Box.

A ECU reset is optional. In time, as you drive, the ecu will learn and adapt to the small changes. In the past, I have reset the ECU.

Edit: The MD 5/16" plenum spacer will allow you to reinstall the engine cover. The 1/2" spacer, as some have noted, will not afford the engine cover to be reinstalled. However, I have read where a few people have been able to do as such. The difference is a couple of ponies up top.

You can also look at the Altered Atmosphere spacer. I have one sitting around, if you're interested pm me. I've heard that the Stillen box can be pretty loud.
