I've been using them for 2-3yrs now. Good product, no complaints or problems.

Power band improvements all over (top/middle/bottom), no losses anywhere.....makes me giggle when people knock the chinese clones, pay their $1000 for Crawfords then wonder why their powerband shifted to uptop with some down low loss

Did you get your headers ceramic coated? (exp. Jet-Hot)

I bought a pair about two months ago for a bangin' deal, and luckily i found a place that will install them for $240. Im just waiting to see if there was any considerable gain before i ceramic coat them and get them installed. I cant really justify spending $460 on top of what i spent on the headers for only ~6hp or so... Thus my waiting

Nope - I've read that ceramic coating them causes them to crack faster

Besides, this isn't a Viper - I don't think coating them would really do much.

Crack ?? Youre not serious are you? I'm pretty sure you are thinking of thermal header wrap. In a nut shell, header wrap helps minimize thermal transfer, but also bakes the headers, causing the metal to fatigue because of the loss off cooling to the surface and the extreme heat that it puts the metal under. Where as ceramic coating, such as Jet-Hot, is coated twice on the enterior and twice on the exterior and is baked on, which actually becomes one w/ the metal. (Ceramic coating doesnt crack nor flake). The enterior coat helps minimize thermal transfer to the actual metal of the header, then the exterior coat takes care of whatever heat that did transfer to the metal (im not saying that this coating takes care of 100% of heat, but dramatically lowers underhood temps).Jet-Hot also guarantees that their ceramic coating will extend the life of the headers by 3X or 10X (i forget which one ) Jet-Hot is also the official ceramic coating company of the NHRA.

I really doubt that the NHRA would use this since 1982 if it didnt work.... And as for our cars not being "Vipers"...yeah, of course they arent. But most aftermarket headers are made of stainless steal, which has different thermal properties than our OEM cast iron headers, thus more heat to the engine compartment. Ceramic coating cuts engine bay heat, saving you money on plugs, wires, fan motors, water pumps and other heat-sensitive parts.

No one makes a knock off of the crawford. They have been proven time and time again on dynos to be one of the very the best header for the VQ.

The topspeed is a good product for the price but comparing it to the crawford is like comparing an M5 to a Maxima.

Would you care to explain how its like comparing an M5 to a Maxima? THe only advantage I've ever seen with them is a few more hp up top, but most of the dynos I've seen have shifted the curve to cause a loss downlow because of the design.

I never said that they were a copy of Crawford; topspeed/dc/strup/?alphaworks? (i believe alphaworks goes into this category) are all basically the same and, imho, leagues better than Crwaford, because of cost vs performance(unless of course that extra 2hp is absolutely necessary for you, heh).

I still don't think it's necessary; but each to his own.........I just don't see the point in paying more for the coat than the headers cost, lol.

Sure.

I have seen quite a few dynos over the last ~2 years on here and My350z of headers (topspeed, DC and others using the exact same design) and many of them loose power. Some of these tests were even done by magazines (turbo is one I can think of off the top of my head). The only two I have seen that have never lost power and show decent gains are the Crawford and Alphawerks. The Crawford headers have been proven time and time again to show much better gains than any other on the market.

Your comment came across like you are bashing the Crawfords and no other manufacturer has come out with a set that show gains close to them.

Back when I was N/A I did not purchased headers. I don't think any of them are worth the few HP you get vs the time and cost to install them. Even as a DIY they are such a PITA.

Just my $0.02.

I'm pretty sure the piping bend/diameter/length/etc... are the same between Alphawerks and Strup (pretty sure, not 100% sure though )

Anyways, could you please show me a dyno of a strup/dc/topspeed/alpha where there was a loss of power across the band? And preferably a clean dyno w/ just headers so there's no confusion with other mods like exhaust or plenum that could skewer the a/f ratio

I'm satisfied with mine - dyno showed power gainsn across the board, no loss; although I do agree the install is a pain in the ***. But personally I think it's worth it for the bit of extra power plus the really cool vrooooooooooooooooom sound

To be honest I don't have the desire to go looking for them again. Nor do I think it would do any good to change your mind. I didn't bookmark the threads. You had good luck with yours and that is awesome; I have seen others who did not have the same luck. To many the little bit of extra power is worth all the work and there is nothing wrong with that, just not for me. I would rather put the time/money into an FI kit.
