funny exhaust noises

when i warmup my 04 coupe in the mornings (or whenever the engine is cold) i hear this high pitched rattling sound coming from the exhaust that goes away after like 10 seconds, sounds like little pebbles bouncing everywhere. Please help! thanks

Could be a CAT. Also, could be a loose heat shield - the startup vibrations may get it going, and once the car settles, it goes away.

Also, it may be something internal - check your oil level - perhaps there's a valve or something making noise, and until oil pressure picks up, it's making the noise.

hmmm...if it's exhaust related, it could be a flange or a bad hanger/exhaust fell out of the hanger, maybe a heat shield still. Not a clutch I guess...you could have a cat breaking up and once the exhaust pressure get going and heater a little, it quiets down???

How does it run, ok? Gas mileage ok still? How long has it been doing this?
