MREV-2 / 5/16 plenum spacer install

I am installing both the MREV-2 and the 5/16 spacer. I was just woundering if anyone has any hints to make it easier or anything the instructions might have left out?

I have an 07 6mt with only 1500mi, any problems with me doing the install?

Simply read over Tony's instructions a few times and be quite familiar with the entire process from the beginning to the end.

Myself, the night before, I removed the engine cover, the intake tube, and prepared an area to lay everything out and took inventory. Lay all the pieces/parts out in an orderly fashion and know what and where all of the bolts and other pieces go prior to starting.

If you are going to be installing the Coolant Control Valve (CCV), it might help to have the said assembly assembled ahead of time. This will also afford the silicone time to cure a bit. I used a Permatex RTV Silicone Gasket material.

Use an inch-lb. torque wrench to torque the bolts to the suggested rates.

Other than that, have fun installing your kit. If you take your time, it should take you some 2 plus hours. Don't be in a rush, if this is your first time under the hood.

Be sure to check the connections at the intake tube with regard to the Throttle Body, MAF and emissions hose connections. After a few days, recheck and torque the 6 bolts, which sit on top of the upper plenum/collector.

Have fun!

It's really a pretty simple project. After doing it a few times, you can do it in about a 1/2 hour after the it cools down!

Maybe an hour tops, with a good fan and the experience. 2-3 hours for a first timer.

+1 . . . However, I would be sure to use an inch-lb. torque wrench. A ft.-lb. wrench can be used . . . However, if it is off of calibration just a bit, it can create big issues when attempting to work backwards to a inch-lb. setting.

There is actually much more loc tite than is needed. You only need one drop on the end of the 6 bolts that go through the middle of the plenum.

It's not too hard. I put my spacer on my car the first week I had it. Have fun and take your time.
