I'm on the verge of buying an Injen Cold Air Intake and wanted to know if it modifies the sound of the engine at all? I know some mods like this make a whistling noise and some others you can only hear with the windows open. Can anyone share their experiene? Much appreciated.

 

it's kinda loud after 4k rpm if I remember correctly. There is indeed a whistling sound at roughly 3k rpm and sometimes as you slowly depress the acccelerator. Sorry I don't remember to what extent the loudness of the CAI was as I had headers and exhaust installed right after.

 

Check the link in my sig. The Nismo performance intake for the 350Z (that fits perfectly on the G) is nearly identical to the Injen in design, and I understand it sounds very similar. I have audio clips before and after the swap, as well as a drive-by video so you can hear the new sound under load.

Above 4k, it's clearly different. It's louder, more aggressive, throatier, a bit V8-ish.

get the intake, it sounds badass, it def. makes heads turn when u get on it. "bought" is right on the money for how it sounds and reacts.
