CAI install difficultly level?
Hey guys, I am a proud g35 coupe owner. I am thinking about purchasing an injen cai and self installing it. I was just wondering how hard this is and if it comes with some sort of directions. I am pretty handy, but I do not have much experience with cars when it comes to disassembly/assembly.
1 to 10 on difficulty level (1 being the easiest) a cold air intake is a 1.... it is a very easy install... Should only take about an hour to 1.5 hours from beginning to end. You can almost look at your stock intake and the new one and figure it out... Do a search and find pics of CAI's and you can do it... There might even be a DIY somewhere on the boards.
That is your MAF.... got to be careful with that, Just do not touch the filaments on that... It will plug directly into the new pipe and screw in.
Search MAF (Mass Air Flow sensor)

I think I remember seeing somewhere that there were a few CAIs that actually didn't produce any gain and not near as much as a pop charger. If you live in a place were the streets flood I would strongly discourage getting a CAI. I've installed CAIs on other cars where I had to take the wheel off and underpaneling, which was a bitch. IDK maybe it would be easier for the G.
