I know what it looks like. I've followed the 4-5 threads closely on the my350z board. I honestly don't think we'll see a difference in power if that dip is removed. To me it's just an aesthetics thing if you don't want it.

If the whole purpose of it is to open the air flow in the first place, then the dip is an issue. How much of an issue, who really knows. My biggest problem is that he didn't include the holes for us to put our covers back on. It shouldn't have taken a whole lot of research to realize that he could sell a ton more if it worked just as well for the G crowd.
