The Pop charger is a cone filter (the redish thing attached to the z-tube). I bought the JWT pop charger which has the filter, the heat shield (goldish thing) and some mounting hardware.

What does it do? Not much! It might give you a little more induction noise (sound of air sucking) and the filter might give you slightly better breathing. I like that the filter is reusable, i can clean it and re oil it and use it again.

I think it looks neat.. but realistically it doesnt do a whole lot for performance. Maybe.. MAYBE lets the engine rev a bit faster.. if any

Thanks for the info man

after I put mine in I couldn't and still haven't got rid of that damn engine light !

It says to be a low engine idle, or vaccum leak. It's so simple I don't see how it could have a vaccum leak. I have installed numerous types of supercherger systems myself and never had one leak so I'm stupmed on this one. Tried to remove it all and reinstall it and after being cleared the light came back on.

Any suggestions ? tip ?

oh and to the thread starter the pop charger, and Z tube adds a nice intake growl under harder acceleration. I didn't notice much for a power gain though.

so how did you resolve the ck engine light?

in your opinion is it worth it to just run the z tube and leave the stock filter alone?
I want that along with the coupe midpipe, but I'm just not sold on the exposed filter like that.

Its basically all for sound so whether its worth it or not is just a matter of opinion. I have the z-tube and popcharger combo and am happy with it. I like the growl the z-tube gives and the whistle the popcharger lets out around 2500rpm. I would do it all again

I'm down with the growl, but I'm not sold on the whistle....having a whistle-sound is a bid odd to me.

Then just change in the Z-tube, maybe add a K&N flow filter. That's what I did and I like it a lot. Not too loud but plenty of deep intake sound. I test drove a Lexus I300 with a pop-charger and hated it, it was way too loud. A friend with a 350Z found a drop in low end torque with his pop charger.

I wouldn't mind trying out a pop charger but I don't think I'd like it so I'm keeping it as I have it.

I added a factory Z-Tube and JWT Pop Charger (the install for both takes under half an hour) and it sounds great. Don't worry about the "whistle" as I wouldn't characterize it that way (not sure what word to describe it). Sounds great and I couldn't be happier... It all looks good under the hood, too!
