Driveshaft and midpipe question

Hey guys I got the coupe middy installed today but the pipe is hitting the drive shaft safety loop. Is there a remedy to this?

I dont sorry, I just removed it for now until i figure something out. It is a good four inches from the drive shaft but the loop was hitting it at the lowest point in the loop. Hopefully I can find a solution.

O <----Drive shaft
\_/ <----Safety loop
0 <----Midpipe

Thats how it should be but my pipe was resting on the loop. Is it terrible to just leave the loop off?

Am I the only one that has had this issue? It seems like with all the coupe middy installs some one would have had this happen. Is the loop even necessary?

I had issues with my midpipe as well but I bought it used and it was already modified by the previous owner so I'm not even sure how the fitment is stock, regardless it was falling about 2-3 inches short from even reaching the inlet of my muffler so it had to be modified to fit, I just took it to a muffler shop and paid $80 CDN for them to weld an extension for it to fit properly, unfortunately I didn't take any pictures at the muffler shop. Anyways I think you should take it to a reputable muffler shop and I'm sure they'll be able to modify it to fit properly and it shouldn't cost that much. I'd be more comfortable with this route than taking the drive shaft retainer off.

Might be a weird question/statement:

The H pipe in the XO2 is angled. Could yours be angled and pointed up when it should be pointed down?

Thanks for the replies. The exhaust shop that finished my install when I couldnt get my bolts loose asked me what to do and I said Ill take it off for now and ask the fellas at g35driver lol. As far as orientation it will only go in one way as far as I know. Any more ideas?

So my solution will be this. I will go back to the shop and have them cut the resonator out and move it either forward or back a bit if that will allow the support to fit. Unless there are any other ideas
