no problems with mine, if its installed right, its just as tight as the Sedans, just using one less hanger, but 1/4 of the size and weight

No rattles from mine in 70,000 miles so far. Be sure to move the support brace over by 1 hole to accomodate the different mid-pipe. You will see what I mean when you get there.

Also the heat shield between the driveshaft and midpipe might need some modification. A lot of people, including myself, had the coupe midpipe slightly touching the heat shield during larger bumps and manuvers. I didn't like the coupe midpipe (didn't sound right) and installed the 05/06 sedan midpipe which sounds perfect (slightly louder, deeper) and fits perfect with no modification.

so the 05 sedan midpipe is slightly louder and deeper than an 06 coupe midpipe? I ask because i have an 05 sedan with an intake i like the sound but i can get an awsome deal on an 06 coupe midpipe. So i was just wondering if it will be quieter if i do the switch or if i will even like it?

The only reason I said you'd have a ton of rattling and you should weld it to the original hanger is because Im an Brooklyn driver, and on our roads its hard to not rattle on a brand new car, let alone a modified one.

The coupe middy is still louder than a 05/06 sedan middy. What Dave said is that he prefers the 05/06 sedan middy over the coupe middy when paired up with the sedan exhaust.

This is easy to explain because the coupe middy is designed for the coupe main muffler that works differently than that of the sedan main muffler.
I can go into the "reflective" or "x-over" difference in the two muffler designs, but I guess that would be too much unnecessary tech details

Your 05 sedan will be a bit quieter than my 03 sedan with the same midpipe because the 03/04 sedans use a ~15% smaller muffler than the 05/06 sedans. Basically the 05/06 sedans have smaller midpipe resonators, but larger muffler cans than the 03/04 sedans. My 03 with 05/06 midpipe is quite a bit louder than a stock 05/06 sedan and even louder than a stock coupe.

Add a coupe midpipe on your sedan will result in a minimal volume change.

No, it will result in a fairly big change. The issue I had with the coupe midpie on my G was that the sound wasn't quite "natural". The coupe midpipe resonator is designed/tuned for a crossflow muffler that is used on the coupe/350Z. The sedan muffler is a totally different design. The 05/06 midpipe is resonator tuned accordingly. Here's a dorky unedited video of my 03 sedan with the 05/06 midpipe.

So installing a coupe midpipe on an 03 sedan involves only swapping the 2 middies, or will there be welding involved? And will it work with the sedan muffler?
