Thanks now I know not to buy that exhuast. It sounds horrid. Unless its just the camera phone jacking with the sound.

Stock. I was very interrested in the Megan exhuast, clean welds, but that sound is way loud for the sedan model.

Now looking at the Tanabe or just HKS rear with coupe mid pipe.
When I was really into 4cyl imports I had an HKS full catback on my turbo 626 and it sounded nice.

I agree its is too loud, although it has quieted a little since the vids. also agree that the tanabe seems like a good option from the clips ive seen/heard if you like the look (personaly not my preference). HKS I feel looks best, but the vids in the exhaust compilation thread sounded pretty poor imo...
ill post new vids after the plenum spacer and CAI install.
another consideration is backpresure which i am currently experiencing at lower rpms, feels a little sluggish. Will y-pipes help?

I would never purchase crappy megan parts. They definitely aren't quality pieces.

How do you know this? The exhuast sounds that way because of how it is designed not because it is flawed. I used to buy ssautochrome parts for my turbo 626 and never had issue with them. Mind you I knew not to buy the turbos, but I bought a huge intercooler and an external wastegate which worked without issue.

So back your statement with some sort of fact. IE: I purchased a Megan part and it broke becuase it was made of crap.

Their G/Z BBK is a great product with proven track results from members.
Their gauges were installed by a few members who were very happy with them.
Might hold off on these comments unless you have tried them yourself. It seems like so many G owners think that just because it's not expensive it has to be crap. I'm not saying you are one of those but this post makes you sound like it.

If you want to tone down the sound from that exhaust I would look at adding an extra resonator and maybe one of those inserts for the tip that makes it smaller.

OR

Sell it to someone looking for that kind of sound and go with the HKS or Borla.
