Thumbs up MREV2 finaly in WOW!

Just got my MREV2 installed today. It took about 2 hrs (I went slow) and I had it all buttoned up.

Several things of note:

I did NOT have a lot of oil in the original plenum as others have had. I don't use much oil between changes either. I have 4500 on this batch of oil and I'm down a 1/2 quart.

The unit I had was used so I went to Motordyne's website and got the pdf of the instructions. The only thing that was NOT in them was the bolting pattern. It says it's on page three but ??? I had to go to the G35 frenzy site for a copy of the service manual which had them in it. This is ALUMINUM people, you must take care of it.

USE A TORQUE WRENCH!!! Do not wrench this with a socket wrench. You torque it in three stages 40/80/100 INCH/POUNDS. This is very little torque but you must have a TQ wrench so you don't warp something or strip off or snap a bolt. (several have done it on here)

The main differences I see between the stock and MREV2 is the length of the runners. MREV is at least an inch longer. There is also some polishing and trimming done to improve air flow. I was a little disappointed that more polishing was not done on the runners, but I can't argue with the results.

Butt Dyno says: HOLY SHIZ!!! It's like it just woke up this motor! It just pulls SO much stronger now. I am very satisfied with the results! I can highly recommend this to ANYONE that has a REVUP motor.

This is the REVUP lower:

This is the MREV2, notice the longer runners:

This is the REVUP side view:

This is the MREV2 side view, notice the larger openings?

This is the amount of oil I had in my lower when I took it apart:

Great idea using the rubber cable to hold up the upper half

I just bought one of these and am waiting for it to get shipped out from a fellow member next week. This was a bit of an impulse buy since I got some a good deal so I don't think I'm going to be picking up a 5/16th spacer right away. It seems like almost everyone that has this on a revup is doing both. Anyone out there that did this in stages with the Mrev2 first? I've seen the dyno charts and from what I can gather the only real difference is 5whp above 6k RPM, a few more whp in the low end, so I imagine that the noticable difference from adding the Mrev2 is going to be much much larger than when I install finally get around to buying a 5/16th later on. Anyone want to try to convince me to grab both for the install at the same time or do you think I'll be alright just doing the Mrev2 alone first?

Here you go. https://g35driver.com/forums/intake-...ev-spacer.html

I generally suggest doing it with the spacer so you won't have to go through twice the installation work and also so that when you do the installation, you will have a new lower manifold gasket to install (the aramid gasket).

you will get more gain out of your car in performance when combined with the spacer. Motordyne dyno's prove that.
