Re: z-tube/pop charger/drop in air filter questions

I just installed a ztube and the pop charger, and it makes a big difference at the higher rpm's both in performance and sound.

since the g has an actual grill and a air duct to direct air flow into the the filter you dont need to have it so low like on the 350. I bought mine of the attached site and it was here within a week a z tube, pop , and clear corners for under 250 shipped. You will be happy with the results

Re: z-tube/pop charger/drop in air filter questions

Does it provide anything below 4000 RPM, like a throatier sound or little bit more pep off the line?

Thanks!

Re: z-tube/pop charger/drop in air filter questions

Several of this site's sponsers sell the JWT Pop Chargers. Look in the "Items for sale - sponsors only" thread. I think one of them has posted pictures of the JWT Pop Charger and Z Tube.

The JWT Pop Charger is basically a blue cone filter. Does the same basic thing as the Stillen airbox -- replace the flat filter intake with a cone intake. Works with or without a Z Tube. They're a couple hundred bucks.

If you want the airbox or pop charger, you won't need the drop-in filter.

What exactly is better about the Pop Charger over the standard air box?

Re: z-tube/pop charger/drop in air filter questions

I can't speak of the Pop Charger itself, as I have the Stillen.
But both use a conical filter and a venturi ring. The conical
filter has more filter surface area versus the flat filter. This
means more filtered air coming in. I guess the Pop Charger
also uses a venturi ring. "The venturi ring acts as a velocity
stack, speeding up and directing the airflow into the intake
chambers, making more useable and noticable power."
So says Stillen.

The Stillen Pop charger or JWT Pop Charger do nothing to speak about below 3500. As your timing advances above 3500 you noticeably hear/feel the difference.
