your new so ill go easy on you this time. but for future reference please use the search feature. almost every question you have or will have can be answered on these boards.

On to your question. You will not gain 9hp for starters. An intake on our car is simply a sound mod. Youll get maybe 1 or 2hp. As far as the install its fairly easy and should take no more than a half hour even if you dont know what your doing. K&N is a popular filter but there are other choices available.

Best Mod to begin with....?

You need to understand the intake by itself doesn't offer much HP. But once
you add the MotorDyne spacer and a cat-back exhaust they all work togeather to make HP. Not to mention the bitchen sounds that come out of
a G35 when you nail the throttle....I tend to scare old ladys off the sidewalks.

Intakes don't make hp, they free up hp, forced induction adds hp. . .

Only way I could see a K&N intake/filter adding 9hp is if whatever they tested it on had a really $h1tty filter to begin with. . .

Most intakes will come with instructions. . .

What gary c said is true, bolt ons work hand in hand. Never add up the hp they claim to add, every mod takes something to give something. . .

This looks like a nice new alternative to pop charger and Stillen. It has what looks like a well made plastic heat shield, but you can still see the filter. Stillen sells these.

$320 is way too much.

You can get nice Stillen intake with Z tube for around $200 and it will give you same performance and sound.
