"Whistling" Noise

So I installed my Fujita Sri, not the dual ones. And after I heard this weird noise I came on here and did a search. Alot of people say they have a "Whistling" noise from most aftermarket intakes on the VQ. But I wouldnt call the noise Im hearing a whistle lol. Its more like a high-pitched shriek. It sounds like two pieces of metal rubbing against each other. Is that the "whistle" you guys speak of? I wish there was an audio clip somewhere.
It sounds horrible. Enough to make me want to go back to stock.
I hope the tube isnt rubbing against something, it doesnt look like it.

Hmm, I don't have a Fujita but my JWT makes a whistling noise, if only for a little bit at a time. The sound you describe doesn't sound good though, I'd double check your install.

does the sound happen when you engage the throttle in the first 3K rpm range? if not you probably have some other issues id check up on

I just installed my Fujita SRI last week with no problems. It's true that most every aftermarket intake has a whistle noise to it but definitely not a metal to metal shreik that you speak of. My advice is to take off the intake and re-install it. What you should hear is a slight whistle when accelerating normally and a slighly deeper exhaust note. When fully accelerating, you will hear a really deep noise in the higher RPM's (more so if your a/c is off). Hope you find the problem and here's a video of what the intake is suppose to sound like.

It happens when I slightly accelerate, when I give it more gas it goes away. It definitely goes past 3k tho.

I guess Ill just re-install.

Re-installed and it still does it. It sounds like bad brakes.

Mine sounds exactly like that when stopped. Its when I get moving that it makes the noise.
