Anyone have stock exhaust with a testpipe/HFC?

I started a thread before about this, and I got some information from it but I still cannot find a sound clip or even just an individual example of someone who has it done. Basically, I love the way my exhaust sounds on my coupe but I just want it a little louder. I've thought about doing this for a while but I've heard cars before sound terrible with stock exhaust and a testpipe.

Does anyone have this done? A sound clip perhaps?

I've done testpipes with the stock exhaust. Sounds raspy but a little too loud for my taste.

here's my coupe with stock exhaust with Fast Intentions resonated SS test pipes.

Start up in a parking garage so it echos a little.

It's quite a bit louder then stock but not too bad. I had non resonated test pipes before and the rasp was bad but it's pretty much gone with these.

I had headers and test pipes with the stock exhaust for about 2 weeks before I purchased a cat back. It sounded great until the rasp hit and I personally thought it sounded embarassing/****ty.

I got headers and 300cell Metal cats w/ my stock exhaust. I couldn't take the rasp, it sucked. I ended up replacing the stock exhaust w/ a Fast Intentions exhaust and love it.

THANK YOU. Awesome vids, I think I will go with that setup.

To those of you that said there was rasp, you both had a header right? I would assume there would be quite a bit then. Just with a testpipe though, I don't think it would be too bad. We'll see...

I currently have resonated test pipes, and the rest of the exhaust system is stock. Sounds great, no rasp that I can detect.

Just make sure you don't get strup test pipes, they have this weird sound on deaccel. My friend with an 350Z has it, and honestly it's real annoying and sounds very ricey...

Here is an example :

You can't miss it, its when the RPMs are going down low.

i've had the same problem. i went to two different muffler shops and one said it was the gasket not sealing properly so i bought new ones and the sound didn't go away. another muffler shop told me it was the flex pipe not being able to handle the pressure passing thru and thats whats making the sound. i'll just wait til i buy a complete exhaust to re-install my testpipes. does the sound occur during 3,000 to 2,000 rpms on decel?
