Are headers worth it with a tune?

Headers don't seem too worthwhile on their own but if I got a tune would that make them see decent gains?

How much do you think you can gain with headers? How much do headers cost? And how much is a tune?

That's why I don't think they're worth it, even if you do the install yourself.

The only bad thing about headers is the rediculous amount of money the install costs. It isn't worth it at all for the low amount of HP you gain. Install alone will run you $800-900...

not true, I bought, installed, and had them jet hot coated for around 400$ and gain about 10hp so I think that is worth it.

That seems to be rather extreme for a header install.

I typically see them installed on our cars for $300-$600 (depending on which headers).

install price depends on which headers... Crawford are a PITA and big $$$ for labor... headers + cams + tune = potentially decent gains... if/when (more likely when) I do headers I will do cams too... but not without.

A guy called in while i was chillin at a shop my friend works at and they quoted him $95 an hour and it would be an 8 hour install for headers.
