5/16 spacer installed no improvments over stock or 5/8 skunk 2

Installed Motordyne 5/16
after no success with skunk 2 i decided maybe 5/16 was a better option

results: no gains noticed on gtech with 5/16 over stock or 5/16 spacer,
butt dyno does feel some imaginary gains but numbers say otherwise...

conclusion; just because your butt dyno thinks there is a gain does not mean there is, have at least a gtech to see if there is any improvement in time over base,,,,,Butt dyno is worthless

y'all are useless, those gains should not show on the dyno. It might only Might change the power curve but nothing significant.

dyno numbers can be different each time and also
peak hp or peak torque don't mean squad
0-60 or 1/4mi are always a more accurate way to measure performance of your car.

i know when i had an SC400 each mod i did i tested with gtech and I could tell on what worked and what does not. I gained .75 sec off 1/4 and a full second of my 0-60. After i was done with my mods i went to a dyno and got around 30lb more torque over stock and around 20whp over stock

conditions can be different in 1/4 mile passes as well. The best way to compare ur car is to have a car that u ran with before and do another run after ur mods at the 1/4 mile track of course.

i did runs on the same day, on the same road with same condition, multiple runs an hour later and there was no improvement. Also 3 days later and its no better

So the Verdict stands

I'm almost 100% sure MD has realeased proven Dyno charts to solidify the fact that the spacers do infact work. Maybe something you did is incorrect in the way you tested your results.

I can't say what it will do to your cars times, but it will make the gains shown in the dyno charts.

Its been independantly dynod so many times, I lost count a couple years ago.
You can do a search on the forums here and find a lot of them.

Best numbers I had were with no spacers but that was in the winter, 0-60 at 5.9 and 1/4 at 14.4
with skunk numbers a few weeks ago were around 6.4 0-60 and 14.85 1/4mi
now im at 15.20 1/4mi and 6.7 0-60
i am taking temperature into account, also i have tried with and without ecu resetts. I found out that right after skunk2 spacer were uninstalled i gained .2 sec in 0-60 and 1/4mi after a day or so ecu adapted and i was back to same times.

I have not seen anything solid to prove gains.
I did see biased dyno charts from Motordyne but you got to take those numbers with a lot of skepticism just like with all aftermarket parts resellers

What did you see as biased in the dyno charts?

The posted dyno plots were independantly generated by Sport Z Magazine (now Nissan Sport Magazine) for their Plenum Mod Shootout.

All the results were published in Sport Z Magazine.

I didn't know that Dave O was in charge of the tests. From my own tests I see no positive change with either a 5/8 or 5/16 spacer on times. What i do have to note is that Motordyne fits and seals better because its cut from sheet of aluminum unlike skunk 2 but with a little bit of gasket maker skunk2 seals fine. On the other hand thermal non-conductive properties of skunk2 make it better at keeping the plenum cooler.
