Stillen Intake Install Question

Facing the hood the front of the car, the left side of my air box that connects to the air scoop doesn't exactly fit tightly. I didn't really follow the directions given I installed intakes in the past before, and I can't seem to remember if there was anything that held those two in place. I know the air scoop has two plastic plugs, but I'm not sure what else I need for the two to fit together.

For now, I've just taken the air scoop out. Any ideas guys?

Doesn't the scoop help bring in colder air though?

in theory that's what it does. But if you almost completely close your hood and look and how air might get to it you will see that it's not really effective. If it makes you more comfortable, leave it on and don't fret to much about it not aligning perfectly. I think mine is off about a 1/4 inch.
