HEADERS/TESTPIPE/EXHAUST 05G35 Coupe

Yea i am about to order headers, testpipe, and an exhaust for my 2005 G35 coupe this week i was trying to see if anyone had any suggestions on what brand to go with. Any information would be great. There is really no limit on $ but i do not want any cheap parts.

Thanks
Brandon

If it were me I would save my money and not get headers. Search the forums here, there are some dynos that show that headers lose power in the mid range and only made power over 6k rpm. If you are autocrossing then it's not a bad idea but for daily driving you "may" lose power. The OEM headers, as ugly and heavy as they are, are actually pretty good. There has been some heated discussion on this topic but generally you will hear that the gains from headers are not worth the price and time/pain to install.

Look into the Motordyne exhaust systemt that is coming out. Fast Intentions also makes a great exhaust. Both companies also make (or will make) test pipes and high-flow cats.

^^^link to Motordyne pics. It's not officially release yet but PM Tony for more info.

There are others too, search the forums and you will get various opinions. Be ready to open your wallet though because once you do this you will be looking at forced induction to satisfy your power crave!

I see you have an 05, if it's a 6 speed (6MT's have the Revup engine) you will want to look into the Motordyne MREV lower plenum. Also, regardless of engine you should look into the plenum spacer mod. This is one of the best bang for the buck mods out there (if not the best). Again, Motordyne makes a spacer and the Power Lab spacer is good too.
