Kinetix plenum

My buddy sold his Z, had a kinetix plenum (not SSV) on it and took it off before selling it. He has offered it to me for $250. Should I take it? I was going to do the motordyne copper iso thermal spacer. I'm reluctant to buy it so if anyone here wants it..let me know. Opinions please

Thanks!

Do a search for Kinetix + melting.

Stick with the Motordyne or PowerLab spacers.

Considering I just looked up and the MD spacer is on sale now...260 instead of 290 I may get that real soon.

That i agree. Anything over 200 for a used plenum is a rip off.

I'll have to look for the thread, there was a guy that had a Kinetic upper plenum and the damn thing melted on him.

Here's the guy who's kinetix plenum melted. He has a thread about it somewhere.

Read through the thread sometime. Some usefull info on there.

When I got there, I checked the manifold. It still had a few small cracks in it (the usual), but nothing threatening looking. To be safe, I slathered it with black silicone to keep it together for the drive home.
This explains everything. U shouldn't go on a 4 hour trip with a cracked manifold. Again those are the older versions of the manifold. My V+ version has been through tests that not many cars will ever go through and have not noticed any cracking or "melting" of any kind.

so it took them 5 revisions to get it right.

Stick with the Motordyne spacer; less expensive and more reliable. Plus, you can get your OEM upper plenum polished and looks +1000000x better than the Kinetix plastic plenum.
