HEAT WRAPPING an INTAKE???

I always thought people just wrap pipes to cover up ugly welds

To clear things up a little.

By offsetting the IATs by a few degrees, you throw the preset ecu flux capacitor settings off thus resulting in an excess fuel dump which will cause you to unload in 2nd. If you leave the intake tube unwrapped, and wrap the filter, you will reduce the consumption of hot air, lowering your AITs that should reflect a 6 rwhp gain. The only proven test of wrapping the complete intake tube was done by jeebus and he replaced his OEM muffler bearing with one of a smaller diamiter in addition to heat wrapping the intake tube. His gains were about 12 rwhp. Search Jeebus and you will find more info.
