Re: Stillen OR JWT

JWT for sure. Stillen is a good Intake, but overpriced for what you get.

Re: Stillen OR JWT

The only considerations might be:
1. that the stillen heat shield is more rigid and thicker than the JWT's,

2. the stillen ABS plastic air box will keep your MAF or Z tube farther away from your AC aluminum line than the JWT's metal bracket

3. The stillen has the venturi ring which might make the air pass colder through the tube after the intake.

Sorry, don't have scientific numbers to back this up, just hypothesizing.....

Plus, Stillen has dropped their price to $189 on stillen.com. Seems like the same filter though......

BTW, i have the stillen CAB....

Re: Stillen OR JWT

the JWT is esentially the same as Stillen. regarding the AC line, you can easily buy a plastic or rubber sleave to protect the line that costs about 50 cents and slip it on yourself easily. 50 cents or 70 dollars? the Stillen costs more than the JWT by about 70 dollars. however, i like the box (heat shield) of the Stillen though where it is enclosed and pretty sturdy. but, the JWT does have the venturi ring as well, not just the Stillen. both filters are the same thing. so, generally, your paying 70 for the box compared to the shield. up to you . . . shield or 70 dollars?

good luck,
matt

Re: Stillen OR JWT

I have the JWT Pop charger and enjoy it. I have also had the NISMO CAI and enjoyed it too, but the weather did not like the placement. JWT also utilizes a ring like the Stillen and its heat shield works well. I had no problem with the A/C line. You just have to install it correctly. If it is close then you can use some tubing to protect it. Mine was about .5" away from the line. Just depends on how much you want to spend.

Re: Stillen OR JWT

Didnt know if the JWT had the ring or not......now i know....

BUT, with the Stillen, they do give you a special limited edition "S T I L L E N" sticker... I think that ADDS about an additional 2.8 hp over the JWT @8000rpm. lol. Maybe the difference in price is the Stillen sticker.....

I guess it boils down to your economics and personal preference. I like my Stillen.

P.S. Cloud, how's your sweet sounds doing these days? Everything tuned?

Re: Stillen OR JWT

Hey....I didn't get a GOLD sticker, I got only 2- 4" white Stillen stickers...lol Oh.... I did get a couple 2004 Stillen catalogs for free......don't think it made up the $70 difference though.....
And the filter has an etched STILLEN logo and the airbox has Stillen engraved into it.

So, neff, did your return your pulley or you gonna install it?

I have mine in the box and haven't decided to install it or not. If it screws up the engine bearings, can't we all file class action against UR? I guess it would be hard to prove it was the pulley and not something else........(sorry, wrong thread to post this in.....)

Re: Stillen OR JWT

Does the stillen's filter have an opening in front. It looks like in pics that it's just a flat metal plate. The JWT has filtering straight on as well. It's kinda hard to describe.

Re: Stillen OR JWT

Hey Joe! Tunes are jamn'. Still "dialing" it in. I traded up the Eclipse 8443 for the Clarion DXZ945MP (with Sirius). Been paying for Sirius for 2 months with NO SIRIUS. Eclipse has not settled yet on what carrier to go with. Was going to be first or mid or end of summer. No telling. So switched it up! lol about the stickers. Oh.. I had returned my full Unorth. Set of Pulley's. =( . I figured the Zex would make up for it. Installing it on Wed. w/ V5 and Cats. I will do before and after on the Dyno.

Re: Stillen OR JWT

Exactly, thanks Dave. If they had the same filter, I would have gone with the Stillen.
