why did service engine light soon come on?

hi i searched around on the forum and was wondering why my ses light came on . only mod was a sri fujita and its been on there for a couple thousand miles now. went to get it scanned code said running too lean? could it be the intake. i even cleaned the maf sensor . havent taken it to the dealer yet though. what else can i do thanks. oh i also reset the ecu and it was off like for a couple hundred miles then came back on. also i checked the gas cap and made sure it was tight? any other possible suggestions would be helpful !

oil change really??? It comes on for maintenance things too?

I have one that goes and comes daily.. I know its because of my exhaust leak though.. Im missing two bolts that tighten down my cats.

what was the actual code number? could have been primary o2 sensor on either bank detecting a lean condition. the light will not come for maintenance intervals.

As someone said, the SES light is actually a 'check engine' light, or does it merely tell you that a service is due?

I need to know this too.

On the battery start up there is no other "check engine" light.. So I'm assuming that the service engine soon is the check engine.

I also get a loud rattle of metal at low rpms/ idle.. That rattle really aggravates me.
