Exhaust on an Automatic

So i decided on getting an exhaust but i hear from some people now that an exhaust doesn't sound as great as when it is on an automatic compared to stick...

I don't see how thats true. Auto trannies aim to keep revs low so you'll get alot of the low rpm drone/deepness but under heavy throttle or in manumatic shifting I don't see any issues.

lol..

An exhaust sound won't change at all just because you have an automatic. The only different there will be is when you shift and let off the gas, in an auto since you don't let off the gas it won't go silent for a second.

Different trannies don't change the sound of the exhaust.

In the other hand, an exhaust never sounds as good unless there's that delay during shifts...

Most exhausts are developed on manuals that have different resonance characteristics vs autos

When put on an auto, many exhausts tend to have resonance problems right where the auto likes to live. ie.. 2000-3000 rpm. It cruises there and shifts at those rpm(if you aren't in MM or if you aren't flooring it)

You can get around it by holding a higher gear and operating at a slightly higher rpm range.

I don't know if this is true for all exhausts, but I've heard from several people on this forum that the Fast Intensions exhaust drones on an automatic

That applies to many exhausts systems on automatics. Jeff92se has a valid point.

I actually HATE the way any autotragic transmission car sounds when it shifts, the manual shift delay is CRUCIAL (for me at least) for it to sound good. I have an auto and its superbly gay when my exhaust is all loud and the exhaust tone basically doesnt stop when the auto tranny shifts. It annoys the crap out of me, hence one reason i am selling my car.
