Can A Rev-Up Coupe 6MT w/ Bolt-Ons Take an IS350 Off all Speeds?
why are you guys talking about FI??? You don’t need FI to beat an NA V6
It’s like ppl comparing the 3351 to the G35 - FI vs NA...
The VQDE and HR and VHR are the kings of 6 cylinder NA.

Looks wise obviously the G35 is better looking and outhandles the IS350 and is more fun with the 6-speed transmission but I'm just thinking in terms of straight-line performance, luxury, practical (4-door / trunk space), I feel like I may still end up selling the G35 coupe for the IS350 in the spring.
G37 / 370Z were talking about a different price range. I would definitely pick a $30-35K G37 coupe over the IS350 but an '06 IS350 can be had for $22-23K these days.
Not sure what you mean, sorry. I would like to think it's easy for a G35 coupe 6MT with a S/C to break into 12's since my buddy's '04 6MT Acura TL (FWD boat sedan) can break into high 12's with a Comptech S/C, etc. I just don't think I'll ever really have a desire to sink $5-8K into the vehicle just from a financial standpoint if I can owe $22K on a car and sink $6K into supercharging it I'm $28K in debt + any maintenance costs, not as reliable, resell value of S/C, just to get into high 12's - or just pick up an IS350 for $22K throw on bolt-ons and hit hit high 12's only $22K in debt.
Fun factor, of course the boosted G35 is going to be 100x more fun to drive than a N/A IS350, and handle and look better too, most likely. But from a financial standpoint I just don't know what to do.

Ha nice yeah had to let the good old CL go unfortunately. Definitely enjoyed it though and part of me wishes I kept it where I'm basically at the same point I was with that car, love the car but want to be able to keep up with M3's / 335i's without sinking $7K into the car.
Thanks for posting the pictures too really appreciate it nice seeing them side by side. That may have made my decision to stick with the G35, in all honesty. I really like the IS350 but to me it just looks like every other IS250 I see I know 3 different girls with IS250's just because they picked that over a brand new Accord for nearly the same price. And I absolutely LOVE the ride and interior of the IS250 but of course it severely lacks power. I don't know at this point what to do if I was confident with MREV2 manifold and headers the G35 would pull on an IS350 on the highway or from a roll I would at least feel better about keeping it.
beating the IS350 u either need tune or test pipes with complementing mods such as most of you guys have. Do both on a 6MT then u are in 335 category.
Don't race them from dead stop. Always do a roll. Thos things can take off if they do the pedal Traction control off.

No, the Porsche 911 GT3 is THE undisputed king of N/A 6 cylinders. 415 hp from a 3.6 while getting 20+ mpg.
