Difference in MREV+ & MREV2

Difference in MREV+ & MREV2

I see some people post up MREV+ and MREV2 but whats the actual difference..I am needing to replace my lower collector and I found a MREV+ vs MREV2...I mentioned to him that I have a 04 Coupe Non-Revup and was curious what the difference of the MREV+ and the MREV2 was. He said the MREV2 was for the Revup motors..(I already knew this) I wanted to know if anyone had any info on the MREV+.....I tried searching but only get MREV2 inquiries...I checked MD site and nothing is out there on the MREV+ I just see the MREV2.....

Any input on this before I pick it up would be greatly Appreciated...

Get the mrev2 as it's the latest version.

IIRC, the MREV2 has a few more reworked collectors (?).

Just get the MREV2 is its suppose to replace the MREV+

right but the MREV2 I heard is not good for the Non-Revup Engines...

If the MREV+ is the original MREV, then it is just a stock OEM lower plenum IIRC(what you already have). The MREV2 has some machining work done that will still net you some gains on a nonrevup, equivalent to a spacer on a nonrevup, but minimal gains if you already have the spacer on a nonrevup

The Mrev was just a stock lower plenum from a 03-04 with a 5/16th spacersold as a package.

MREV+ is the original MREV2 with machine work.
MREV2 I think has a little more done.'

I had asked Tony(Hydrazine) this same question awhile back and he said if you
have the MREV+ don't even bother wasting your $$$ on the MREV2 since it will be a gain of 1-2WHP at most.

okay thanks Glez and Redlude..I was curious because I already have a 1/2 MD Spacer with the ISO thermal kit...I am in need of a Lower Collector because mine has some screw holes that are stripped out...with that being said from what I am reading is that MREV2 paired up with a 1/2 Spacer is not the right way to go on a Non-Revup.....

so in otherwards if I need to replace the lower collector buying the MREV+ wont hurt anyhting..but I can probably find the OEM Lower collector (technically the samething) and save money....?? let me know if I interpreted that right?

pretty much. you can decide for yourself if the added cost above a nonrevup plenum is worth the 1-2hp you will gain with the MREV2 along with the spacer

Well I just got off the phone with Tony and he basically said the samething as you redlude...but since I need to replace it I will probably pick it up anyways to pair it with my 1/2 Spacer. He said that I should be okay.

I'd helicoil those screw holes before paying $400 for a MREV for a non-rev. If it's on the lower plenum then I don't think any of them are that critical that a heli-coil couldn't fix. None of the plenum torque values are all that high anyway.

I have always wanted the MREV2 for my NOn-revup so I will probably order it anyway.. My lower collector is polished as well....I would probbaly need to learn how to do the helicoil...im assuming you are meaning to re-drill the holes out and drop in one of those spring looking things inside so the screw has something to grab a hold of.

I saw those at autozone the other day..

If you do decide to do the coil method, just machine down your front runners to about 10-11mm on each side and you'll more or less have an MREV2.

But I'm saying like how everyone says it's not good for no rev up engines, what is a rev up engine cause I was gonna buy that Mrev2 and that spacer but I'm not sure if it's worth it
