Average cold air hp gain

So I was just wondering what kind of HP gain does one normally gain off upgrading lets say from bone stock g35 to a new cold air intake. The one I was looking at is said to give about 5 Hp and I was just making sure that this was not too low b/c I am getting it rather cheap. bout 120 used. So just wondering what gains do most ppl experience when upgrading to cold air intake?

what intake is it? cold air or short ram? cold air intakes tend to lose power, most intake have small gains 2-5hp not anything you can feel, now if you have other breather mods and get a tune an intake will help with power gains

plenty of info on the site please do some research

Based on personal experience with a few cars and CAIs, the gains aren't worth what some people pay.

And as you can see in plenty of the "what intake should i get" threads, most people are sticking with the Ztube and drop in, stillen, or JWT.

I have a Ztube and a Pop Charger and I haven't really noticed any real gains. Just loud and you get that cool whistle sound at about 1/4 throttle.

$ 120 is a good deal depending on what it is. But to each their own

This is the exact one that I plan on running by and looking at tomorrow and buying if I like it, just wanted to do a final checkup to make sure the noob dosent do something stupid. Although I feel pretty comfortable w/ the purchase thus far.

i dont know if you will exactly "feel" the gain of the intake, more like a placebo effect

I used to have a fujita short ram, and personally i felt a loss in low end. It annoyed the crap out of me, so i switched to z-tube/popcharger, and got all the power back, plus a nice wistle.

Hey i have the AEM CAI...it sounds cool...lol...you won't really notice a difference in power until you get a plenum spacer....Actually, don't get the CAI unless you get a plenum spacer...unless you just like the noise....

Do yourself a big favor and put that $120 into buying an used 5/16" plenum spacer. Or a Powerlab 3/8" spacer.

Don't forget about the wing (only if it looks like a shopping cart handle) adding 50 whp.
