Exclamation Major Decrease in gas due to custom exhaust

So i just got a new exhaust system for the G35 basically what i did was took of the resonator and muffler then got a straight pipe put it in place were the resonator used to be made a custom Y-pipe and welded the stock tips back on and made sort of a true dual exhaust setup . It sound really good and it saved me about 1200 that i would've spent for an aftermarket exhaust system. Now the problem is that its eating up my gas like crazy and i cant understand why. Is it because i took the resonator off??? plz help ????

The answer to your question is YES. With a straight pipe you will get bad miles per gallon, but you gain some ponies and it is much louder now.. You gain some you lose some.

it shouldn't eat up your gas mileage that bad try not pressing down on the gas as hard.

Where'd my gas go....?

HAHA....these kinda a threads crack me up! You do realize that your right
foot and brain are connected....right? Your brain hears the sound your new
exhaust is making and loves it so to please your brain the right foot continues
making your brain happy....simple concept! Understand? It's almost impossible to do but try to control your gas pedal, turn up the music..anything.
