Stillen Y-pipe question

For those of you with the Stillen Y-pipe, what benefits are there with the rest of the exhaust stock? I dont want to lose the sound of the stock exhaust, and I dont know if the Y-pipes would change this much since the resonator and the muffler is still stock. I did a search, and couldnt find an answer that I was aiming to get
