Intake System Help!?

I’ve been reading in a few other threads about plastic tubing vs. aluminum/metal tubing for an intake system ie. Whats better, what stays cooler and increases HP performance. Any thoughts on that whole thing, cause I’m looking to put an intake in as well but with all the different opinions its hard to decide whats best, especially seeing how I don’t know much about that sort of thing to begin with. Also what gives the best sound?

+1 z-tube with k&n or amsoil filter. As far a sound, stillen intakes sound nice

pop charger is great sound but the heat sheild sucks, stillen high flow airbox has the best heat sheild but is not as loud as the pop charger. any intake wont add much power not enought to feel anyway. the best way to get the most out of intake, exhaust and plenum spacers is to get a tune once you have all the performance mods

In reality the chrome z-tube and pop up look very cool and I've considered switching from my Stillen CAI/Z-Tube combination....but I drive my car and don't want to create issues with heat soak. I could have a winter/summer system....naa what I'm running works fine! Stillen z-tube and a K&N drop-in filter will cover all your needs....bottom line!

I'm going to assume a heat sheild prevents heat from coming into the engine? Wouldn't that mean that the stillen would be better if one is looking for just performance and doesnt care much about noise

Yes, the way Stilled designed their CAI it's not bothered by heat unlike some of the other intakes that use metal tubing and leave the filter exposed. What's a 4" metal shield going to do besides heat up, virtually worthless. They are pretty but I'd rather not live with heat soak because it kills performance and gas mileage....

stock is the best performance. if you only care about performance and not sounds or bling factor, just leave it be. nissan's engineers did their homework when they made the intake.

I thought the z tube gave you better performance cause it had less holes and better air flow

don't expect too much out of an intake there, don't get TOO ahead of yourself on gains

Ok i think i've decided the way to go, just need one last piece to the puzzle. I want to get the JWT Pop Charger, i went on a webite from vancouver. They have the JWT pop charger but theres two different tubes. One is a Nissan Z Tube, the other is a Z Tube but made my Stillen, are they the exact same? I'll attach a link. One is cheaper and i was concerend maybe the cheaper on isnt good? Let me know. I want it to sound good and function well also.
