Stillen Headers install
I wrapped and siliconed sprayed & sealed my entire exhaust from manifold almost to the tip. Helped quite a bit on the rasp. I also switched headers three times which also helped since each time I got better ones. Hth.
what 3 brands of headers did you go through?
Here are the reasons for change.
Stock > Ichiba : After some research the Ichiba, DC, Strup and Stillen have practically the same design. The only difference between them is the price and the Ichiba had a much more appealing number
Ichiba > DC : Though the Ichiba are fairly well made with good material and welds, it was slightly hitting the steering rod which made it annoying to drive. Their customer service is amazingly very good. I sent them a picture and they immediately sent me a new pair no questions asked. I didn't want to risk it again so I put on the DC.
DC > Tomei V2 : As you do more research on header design you come to realize that there are much better options out there. The Tomei have longer primaries and the collector are much better designed. Overall quality is unparalleled compared to my previous two, but it did come with a heavy price tag.
Tomei V2 > xxx : Since I'm revamping my entire engine inside and out, I am in need of special headers to maximize power. Tomeis are good but with my larger displacement, higher compression, and large cams (duration and lift) they will be hampering me.

I had some rasping issues after I installed my strup coated headers.... it wasn't bad and went away when the pipes heated up, but I solved the issues by getting a pop charger and doing some plenum mods. I ported and polished the upper plenum, lower plenum, and intake runners. rasp = gone.

Ichiba is better than DC
DC is better than Tomei V2
did you put those <> signs backwards? 1 < 2 (2 is bigger/better)
