370z exhaust on a G coupe. Headers back.

Got all this for 150 bucks!

Should I make this fit on the G and see if I feel any gains, the Y pipe looks a little weak.. Should I use my 350 HR instead? What do you guys think? Worth making fit on a G with extensions? I'm thinking about using an X pipe to go true dual on this. Worth installing headers or should I do long tubes?

Sorry for crappy iphone pics.

Headers:

Cats:

Y pipe:

Mid pipe or whatever:

Muffler:

Z34/V36 cats vs. Z33/V35 cats

Are you going to custom fab from the catback - midpipe to add the x pipe?

^Yes I was thinking of doing that along with extended piping to accommodate for the shorter Z exhaust.

not sure if the headers will bolt up to the G. so that knocks off the cats.

I say swap out ypipe for your HR ypipe only. Maybe even use a different muffler for weight savings or just use it.

only thing is the piping is still 2 1/4, so its like going trual dual with oem size pipes.

I like this experiment!

I was thinking of welding on an X pipe in the same size with extensions.. all the pieces are REALLY light except for the cats and muffler.. I've alread sold all 4 cats.. Maybe I can sell my HR 350 Y pipe, and HR 370 Y pipe to fund this project.. The OEM headers from the 370 look just like aftermarket headers for our DE motors.. I'd have to use HR test pipes or something to make them work but I'm not too worried...

Anyone think I'll see gains with a true dual OEM exhaust?

i dont mean to ask a stupid question, but what is so great about this STOCK exhaust? is it worth the work to make it fit the g35? piping looks kinda small too. is it 2.25" piping?

hurry and put it on. I would like to know if there is any good result from this. I'm all about oem.

I'm thinking about doing this but with the g37 exhaust since then I wont need any type of extension.
only difference is the that mini ypipe is longer than the Z's

also..
Z/G 37 is a bored out HR motor..

That's what dyno's are for...to find out if parts are worth it or not.

2.25" DUAL exhaust is may more than enough for most N/A power needs. I don't know how large the center section is, where the pipes unite and the separate again, but it kindof works as a X-pipe so it seems good to me.

^ I'll let you know.. I am going to an exhaust shop sometime monday or tuesday and have them extend the exhaust and also put in an X pipe to make it true dual.. This will be used in conjunction with my Megan resonated test pipes.

I don't care if I don't get any gains.. Just as long as I don't have any power loses and it doesn't sound like ***.

^ blah! Really?

If so maybe I can have them redo some parts and throw in some extra resonators? Perhaps in the extended parts?
