Exhaust Dilemma...Motordyne XYZ & HFC's with OEM Exhaust???

So the Wife doesn't approve of the X02. Never had, never will.

I was thinking of going with a more stealth approach.

Using the OEM exhaust, I was thinking of using it with a Motordyne XYZ and HFC's.

She knows the OEM exhaust has a tone to it. Hopefully it won't be TOO noticeable.

Question is:

How loud with the OEM mid pipe and muffler sound with the XYZ and HFC's? I'm afraid it may rasp. I'd hate to have the OEM note with rasp.

Utilizing the OEM exhaust, should I use the resonated XYZ or straight pipe since the OEM mid pipe already has a resonator. Price may determine my decision.

If money is tight (Holidays around the corner), I may just run either:

HFC & HR Y-pipe or
XYZ & OEM cats

Which one of the above will make more power with the OEM rear section?

Will the combination of the XYZ and HFC's still make power along with the OEM rear section?

XYZ with resonator is claimed to eliminate rasp.

From their site: "Resonator module for XYZ pipe. For a warmer sound with reduced or eliminated rasp."

I have never had rasp with my HFC.

Get some HFC and the Resonated XYZ and you should be good. It will quiet things down a bit too, so the tone isn't as noticeable.

I think it will still resemble the stock tone quite a bit but slightly louder.

I purchased the Complete Shockwave)))) system but at the time of installation had the wrong rear piece so i just ran the OEM exhaust + XYZ w/ resonator... and honestly, it lost that little OEM growl/tone. it sounded really smooth... a little too smoth for my taste (i got the shockwave - no mufflers). BTW no Rasp.

although i dont have HFC or TPs and they might perk up the sound... it was surprising to me to have lost that OEM tone with just swapping the Y pipe.

maybe you should try Motordynes:
-new TPs (when they come out in the near future)
-XYZ with
-CAT attachment to XYZ (your wife will notice the emission stank).

i have a MD Resonator attachment you can try, if you get a different accessory. i was thinking about selling it but i might just keep it if i get rasp from TP or HFC.

Thanks for the awesome response! Looks like the Motordyne resonator does it's job well.
