HP Gain: Fast Intentions Intimidator vs HKS Hi-Power

I am looking for a new exhaust for my 06 G35 coupe. From what I've searched around in the threads, the best ones for power gain are the Fast Intentions Intimidator and the HKS. If you were in my position which one would you get if sound wasn't that big of a factor. Or if their are other exhausts that I should consider.

I went from my F.I. HFCs + HR Y-pipe on stock exhaust combo to my Motordyne gamma tdx catback exhaust and the dyno showed a 13hp/12tq gain, which is pretty damn good for just a catback.

Like you, I was more interested in the performance gain rather than sound, but I lucked out on both. Great sound and power gains. Excellent quality and craftsmanship on the exhaust aswell.

cant go wrong with either or, but i would say the FI is more "stock" sounding and the HKS has more of an "exotic" tone to it

I went on YouTube and checked out a few sound clips of the MotorDyne Gamma and it sounds pretty nice too. But when I went on the MotorDyne website to check out the exhaust they only had the Shockwave now. Did this replace the Gamma?

I think i'm starting to lean towards the HKS with FI HFC. Does anyone if this installation is hard?

^^^I had FI HFCs and HKS. Loved it. Miss it. Only sold them b/c I wanted the money for a system.

Neither are hard to install. You can do them both yourself. The HFCs are just difficult to get to...you'll want 3 10" extensions.

The Gamma axle back sections are in the 'exhaust components' section. If you get the whole catback, the gamma costs like $2-300 more than the shockwave version. FYI, Shockwave + Mufflers = Gamma.
