Re: Question for Sedan owners w/ Borla/Stillen Exhaust

You will find that it quiets down substantially over then next several hundred miles. I measured a 3-4dB in-car drop. I haven't seen an explaination of this posted. Stillen claims they pack the resonators and muffler with "imported" steel wool (as opposed to fiberglass for some other systems). Perhaps this simply compacts in time, or partially fills with soot?!? My measurements of the various exhaust at our dyno-day showed that Borla and Stillen on sedans are equally loud (outside the car).

I've had the Stillen for six months now. If you are looking for a queit exhaust, this is not it. It's meant to have a growl and perform. After Dynomating, there was minimal change, over the months can't say that the sound has quited down at all. The drone is there, but you get use to it, or reminded about it when it's cold.

Re: Question for Sedan owners w/ Borla/Stillen Exhaust

I recently took my Borla off.
Too much flack from the co-pilot.
But she doesn't like the radio volume past 12 either.

It would be far to expensive to trade the co-pilot, so the Borla had to go

(BTW it's posted in the parts for sale)

inTgr8r, here's a link to a post to help you sell your Borla sedan exhaust. It's a owner generated before and after dyno that show's how much power the Borla sedan exhaust makes
Baseline dyno has: Crawford plenum/Z-tube/K&N filter panel/Magnaflow exhaust resonator

9hp
6ft lbs
