3 inch filter causing stuttering, help please

3 inch filter causing stuttering, help please

hey hoping you guys can help me out, i have an 04 g35 coupe, have a z tube on it and i picked up a 3 inch filter today with the adapter to bolt it up to my maf sensor. the problem is when i installed it the car hesitates like its stuttering, checked all the connections and what not and everything seems good, any ideas?

Vacuum leak? MAF sensor in there all clean and secure?

put the factory box back on and it's fine. even a litle leak shouldn't cause an issue. any other ideas?

Did you get any check engine lights? Reset the ECU.

what kinda filter is it? sounds like the filter is a POS and is not letting enough air in

its a ractive filter, do you think this is the problem, before it gets to the filter it goes into a square as you can see in the pics, im thinking it needs to be fully opened up 3 to the full 3 inch like the factory one?

What is that around the square? did you attempt to seal what is obviously not made for your application with silicone?

Fail.
