Will do. Another option for sealing the hole would be to cut a peice of plastic and put it over the hole, gluing it to the outside of the tube. That way there is not worry of anything getting sucked into the intake. The only possible downside to this is that there is a 1/2" deep round void in the tube. This spot is filled in with the bottle cap. I doubt the void would cause any measureable turbulence in air flow.

i was thinking about this today at work. lol thats how suprised but yet interested i am in what you did. i was thinking could you not have taken some plastic and actually made a stencil and then cut out a plastic piece to glue overtop of that?
