Question about G35 Extension & Nismo

Okay so I was installing my nismo today and came across something. I had bought 2 extension pieces (knowing I only needed one) from someone locally. They said they bought from mynismo.com. The thing is, I've read that the extension piece goes between the Y pipe and the midpipe. The one's I receieved make the exhaust fit fine. However, 2 are needed because the flanges arent wide enough to fit the nismo exhaust between the midpipe and the y pipe. So...here's the deal. Right now, I'm waiting on my nismo y pipe...so I installed the nismo exhuast with the stock y pipe. It goes stock cats-g35 extension pieces on both sides-y pipe-midpipe-muffler.

Will this work okay, will it alter the sound or affect performance any? I mean the exhaust fits okay, sounds quiet-which I assume will be remiedied when I get the nismo y pipe..but I'd appreciate some help with my questions here.

Summary:
1.) Location of G35 Extensions-will this work okay?
2.) Will replacing the stock G35 y pipe with the nismo y pipe alter the sound with the Nismo Exhaust.

Thanks very much in advance.

1. it will work, but you should put them where they belong.
2. Y pipe isn't going to change the sound very much. you'll notice the sound change at start up but then it will fade to stock again.

you'll be find, but if you feel your car lagging.. just check for an exhaust leak, cause I doubt you put gaskets at both ends of the extentions?

Nismo Y would be a little louder.. but dont expect it to be the difference maker.

Yeah I put gaskets in...I do have a small leak near the muffler but I doubt that will make a difference so far away from the engine
