i wonder what the life span on one of these is if your car is pretty well maintained because the stillen filter in the high flow box is a pain to get out and clean

^who knows give it a shot! however I have ordered my apexi filter to replace my pop-charger and should be here tomorrow!

reason for changing: the oil based pop-charger eventually caused a build up of oil on my MAF throwing off the A/F ratio. Causing my car to ping real bad as I was trying to get it tuned. Hoping for this to solve the problem

did you order one locally or from somewhere else with the adapter and how much?

I don't think it will work. I tried it with the AEM dry filter. I think apexi is wider at the base than the AEM. I had to compact the filter a little to make it work. I don't think you can do that with the apexi filter. Here are some pics.

I have that same filter and while its narrower than the apexi it sticks out about an inch from the back of the airbox due to the flange. The apexi I know is much shorter and angled and because its 160mm wide only at the base I believe there is enough clearance for it. I was thinking of mounting it slightly different than your pics, maf - adapter - airbox - filter, that way I wouldn't be wasting space inside the airbox. I still need to take some measurements to be sure but I know I need about 43mm from the outside edge of the opening for it to fit. They also make a smaller filter with the same ID as the one for the Z that would only require 33mm clearance(140mm OD).

I think the smaller one would be better. The mounting holes for the MAF on the stock airbox are slightly angled and will take up some space which you need.

this doesn't attach like most cone filters, it's bolted on. so you would need one of these adapters to attach it to ur CAI
do these come with the intake?

Soo i just installed a z tube today, and i finally know the sound people are talking about it
It sounds cool when i give it a little gas, but i can only hear the sound if the hoods open haha.

I'm curious with this apexi filter, is the sound noticeable from outside the car while the hood is closed and everything?

yes, any cone filter is gonna sound way better than an OEM panel style filter.
