pop charger and z tube?

sorry i just found out about this. is the pop charger like a short ram? together how much hp do you think they gain? and does this mod reduce low end power like most intakes. thanks:thewave:

Do some searching. No power gain, possible loss due to heat soak.

Stillen intake with Z tube..

I've never heard of a Pop-charger. I wonder what it is... and what is this "z-tube" thing people talk about?

youngG 06-28-2010 11:45 AM

pop charger is mostly for noise

Pop charger makes a popping sound through a Z shaped tube on acceleration..

KSWAY 06-28-2010 11:49 AM

And Z tube is the Z shaped looking tube that makes the pop charger pop on acceleration..

g35drivvaa88 06-28-2010 12:31 PM

so its a bad idea to spend like 200 on them?

Xet 06-28-2010 12:51 PM

200? That is an amazing deal!! The z shaped tube is worth at least double that alone!

DrewTheSuit 06-28-2010 08:19 PM

umm....z tube is the less restrictive intake tube from the 350z, and the pop charger is jim wolf's version of a cone filter....not much gains from any intake setup, more for sound than power

Sucks you have no idea what you are talking about.......excessive IAT's caused from stagnation is NOT heat soak.....

I run one on my car.....it's fine.

Your obviously a retard, do some searching about jwt and heat soak issues. I run the setup myself but I realize that in hot weather and/or in non-continuous motion I will lose out due to heat soak. Stop spreading your bull**** without doing some reading tard.

Clown, thank you proving my point. IAT is what causes the power loss. If you provide the element adequate thermal protection from the heat coming from the engine you can elevate the initial lag in performance. If you have an 06 box....use it, but if not the pop charger is the next best option IMO.

Since you seem a little slow......here is a PDF for you to read:

Obviously we are referring to two different terms, you are referring to a phenomenon that is separate from literally the heat of the engine bay warming the air and transferring it to the intake, therefore "soaking" the air that is being taken in with heat. Don't make such big assumptions asshat and you could have stated are you referring to this particular type of heat soak or not?

And show me dynos that show the jwt popcharger even with the shield makes more power than any of the stock boxes, or stock boxes with k&n filters. Nobody tries to deny the fact that the oem boxes are the best for performance, with the 06 ones being the top but not much better than the others. The power difference may not be that great but the jwt system definitely does not make more power than the stock boxes. Add in the intake of hot air (does phrasing it like that help you?) on hot days and in more idle conditions and there is a greater loss of power.

But go ahead and try to tell me the jwt makes more power, but please include dyno proof.
