Intake Install

Hey guys I did some searches but wasn't finding the answer I needed. I have a short ram intake I have on the way and was looking at the AEM installation instructions for a cold air intake. I understand I need to remove the stock intake system, but it's also showing I have to take the wheel off, pull back the fender, and remove other stuff.

My question is...is that necessary if I don't have a cold air intake going down that low, and just a short ram? Thanks in advance.

P.S. The instructions I was sent from the seller is as vague as they could possibly be with no pictures at all

For a short ram intake you don't have to remove the wheel or fender liner.

Here's a good write up on how to install a popular short ram style intake.
