I have an '04 (VQ35DE) and I need new cats for smog. There is someone locally selling some for a decent price, but he has an '08 (VQ35HR). I was wondering if anyone knows if his cats will work on my car or not?

Any info or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

 

Nope. Not unless you change the exhaust manifolds to the HR versions. The HR cats are a bit longer (upstream towards the manifold) than the DE cats.

If you haven't already, search my350z.com for DE cats. They're always up for sale, especially in CA.

 

Yeah, I've been searching for the last week...

I've seen many sell for $60-80, but lately all the people that have been PMing me want something like $200-300, which is outrageous....

 

are you running TP? or HFC? Cause HFC will pass emissions...
