Copper Exhaust Tips
As many of you know I like do things a little differently. I'll be going with a custom exhaust down the line and I'm thinking of doing an OEM emblemless grill in copper, wheel barrels in copper and for the rear, muffler tips.
If I get muffler tips coppered, would change colors or would it retain it's proper finish?

They wouldn't get much for it since it's not pure copper, it's just copper plated. I'm only getting tips done anyway but this probably won't be till I get my custom bumper done since I won't have muffler(s) after the midpipe.
Copper tarnishes (called 'patina'). Might have to hit it with a cleaning polish like Permalac frequently unless you have it garaged. A lacquer finish is best for durability and can be stripped easily to refinish.

Thanks for the info Christian.
MJ, color of my car is IP. Down the line when I do my engine bay I plan to do the majority of the polished parts you see people doing in copper. Some parts will remain polished to give it a subtle two tone.
