What Exhaust?

I'm currently looking to add some mods to my car and thought I'd get some input.

Any suggestions on what exhaust I would get the best bang for my buck with?

I have an '06 G35x Sedan.

Putting Md 5/16" Plenum Spacers, a Z-Tube hopefully, and just dropping a basic K&N filter in it. Not sure if any of that matters at all. Just trying to figure out what to buy so I can do it all in one go.

you sir could be the answer for all us AWD. hopefully the you are down to do some test fitting on possible parts for the AWD, all the vendors are in cali.

cheap route for noise = coupe mid-pipe

HKS = overpriced unit. $400 for a axle back... come on now.

I don't believe the HKS is overpriced considering a full catback is upwards of $1K (MD when it was being made, Stillen and Borla - a bit cheaper)

stillen comes with the Y, mid and axle... well i think they have X pipes and not Y's but either way. Same with borla. Both are about $1000k.

MD has mid and axle for $777 when they were selling it.

So roughly $333 for each peice is about average. But here is the kicker, stillen has proven gains ( over exaggerated i think but gains), MD had dyno proven gains as well... the HKS axle... hardly any gain.

In the end thats what i look at, $1000 for stillen and 10whp, MD $777 for about 10whp, HKS $400 for..3whp ( LOL if any but a noise maker)

i went coupe mid for $30, no gains but weight savings of about 8lbs and its a noise maker.

^I agree with you assessment on the gains (minimal) of the HKS. Its more bang for your buck for sure to get a full catback if you are looking for performance.

Well, for me fast intentions is good for me. I like the way it looks. Not to loud, not to soft. But i heard from other people stillen is a tad louder if your looking for that. But still looks nice.

So, is there a difference between a 35 sedan and a 35x sedan when it comes to exhaust?
I have been trying to search, but there is so much on the exhaust that it gets very confusing.
I have a 2004 G35x sedan with a hole in the resonator that sounds horrible. I need to get this fixed but there are so many options that I am totaly confused at what works and what sounds good.
I have about a $500 - $800 budget.

Sorry about the thread jack.

I like the megan racing catback sound, and it's fairly inexpensive.

$1000k for an exhaust... damn... I guess I can't upgrade haha.

I'm going for the 05 sedan mid. I heard it's a worthwhile upgrade with no drone.
