Exactly my point. That is a 559! As I said the Ferraris that people are talking about are the higher end models OR modded. The 559 is certainly a higher end ferrari and does sound great. Stock 430 sounds better than 360 but still lacking. 458 is MUSIC! Enzo is MUSIC! 559 is MUSIC!

STOCK 360 Modena sound? Ummm...Camry/Honda notes come to mind. LOL

And no, your hearing is not off. You just listening to a much better sounding stock car than I'm talking about.

And you asked the drivers if the exhaust was stock? And you confirmed that the cars were 360 Modenas and NOT the better sounding 430, 450, Enzo or 599?

I asked the techs not the owners. It was a Ferrari meet at a track. You're entitled to your opinion. If you really think that G35 exhaust>360 Modena exhaust then welcome to it.

Thanks Tian - you make my point for me.

OP

1 - Yes I watched the video.

2 - Yes I heard the exhaust.

3 - Yes, I've been around many, many Ferraris, including the one you cite, and have heard their exhaust (stock) first hand.

4 - Continue to dream on.

5 - The G sounds good for what it is, but it IS NOT equavalent or better than the Italian V8.

6 - Most G after market exhausts sound akin to the rice pipes you find on Hon-duhs, but that's just my opinion. All show (noise) no go (minimal gains..)

7 - Have a nice day, and don't let me catch you off your medication again.

Seriously though...did you guys actually listen to the video and think that sounds better? Keep in mind...even if you like that weak sound compared to our deep more powerful sounding notes, keep in mind it's VERY quite. If I were to drive by you in a 360 and you weren't looking, you might miss me. In fact you are VERY likely to miss me. In a G, you would hear me possibly before I even pass you. Trust me...the Ferrari is not even close. It's quiet AND it sounds like an economy engine(Toyota/Honda).

I insist that you guys probably have not heard a stock 360. I mean there is one right in the video but I don't know if you listened to it. I was like many of you until I first heard it in person. I was SHOCKED! I too thought all Ferrari cars sounded like what you guys are likely impressed with:

Race Track prepped Ferraris on the track
High-end Ferrari cars like Enzo
The new cars like the 458 Italia
360 Modena WITH aftermarket exhaust

That is ALL you guys would have heard. Think about it. How many times have you guys ran into Ferrari cars on the road? Not much right. What are the odds that ANY of those cars you heard just so happen to be one of the few cars that are not modified? Ferrari cars are rare...stock is even more rare.

I had a LOT of trouble trying to record Ferrari exhaust sounds because it's so quiet. Supposedly its made that quiet so it can comply with noise restrictions in some country more strict than America. Bottom line is, when even the Ferrari owners say the exhaust sucks...that really tells you something. Just about the only people who like the stock 360 exhaust are really old people or people who have not ever actually heard one(but think they did).

Seriously though...I love the G35 exhaust stock and aftermarket but they can't compete with the Ferraris. They are in a league of their own. Also comparing V6's to V8's is kinda hard as well.

Smile Cast your votes! :)

I guess we just have a difference of opinion then. I personally like to hear the exhaust note while driving(at higher RPMs) and I also like deeper notes. I love throaty engines like MOST V8 also V10/V12 is heaven for me. The more violent the better. This is my music:

Lamborghini LP640
Gallardo V10
Carrera GT
Mustang Cobra
Shelby Daytona Coupe
SRT-8 Jeep
Dodge Charger Hemi
Ducati Supersports
Daytona 675
G35/G37
Lotus Evora
Lotus Exige

All of those cars sound WAY better to me. That is just an opinion though. To each thier own.

Anyway...cast your vote traitors. I did a quick G versus 360 vid

Even a VW sounds better to my broken ears. lol

That is what I used to think until I sat in a 360 Modena and the Lotus Evora and Exige. It's all about tunning apparently. Ferrari can tame down that V8 monster and Lotus can release the beast in the Toyota 4 cylinder and V6 Engines. Frankly even the V12 monster in the LP640 surprised me. If I keep the RPMs low it is as quite as the G...Rev it and DIE!!(With a SMILE on your face!).

Remember we are talking strictly cosmetic. Comparing performance would be a joke... except in the case of the Lotus cars. They have tuned those engines for performance, not vanity and since the cars weight nothing....watch out in the corners Lambo/Ferrari.

Talking

Funny. The first vid you posted as soon as he turned it on it was obviously aftermarket because it did not sound like a honda. If you doubt me read the video's own description "Sound of Ferrari 360 Modena modified exhaust". LOL

The second video again is modified but with a little known hack. The poster even admits it "It was the car of my father , the stock exhaust with open valves . It was great !!!!"

So basically you just proved my point! These are the cars you guys are hearing and thinking I'm crazy. What is crazy is CLEARLY in my video which has the REAL deal(stock) you can hear how wimpy(You can barely hear it and whenever you hear it, it's because mic is near ehaust, but it's still quiet), but yet you felt it necessary to send me a video of some other cars.

I have recorded MANY cars and the Ferrari by FAR was the most difficult to record, because when I do a video I don't care about brand, I want them to all sound at their best. With the G all I have to do is hit 3kRPMs. No comparison in my warped mind. In the HWY scene you cannot even hear the Ferrari even with window open. I mean how can an exhaust that cannot even be HEARD most times, sound better? LOL

And for the record, YES, those MODDED cars you showed in the videos do sound better than the G. Although lacking the bass I prefer, it does sound MUCH more "racy".

for one its a crappy video that looks like you too a tv show and edited in shot of a G35, and it may just me but that first vid the car did not sound like it had a STOCK exhaust. And yes I have heard a stock Ferrari and a Lambo in person, seeing how we were putting on an aftermarket exhaust. this was at the shop I use to work at. Love my G, but I am not delusional.

Thats what I am screaming... And not to mention that there is no in car audio,(as far as I watched those stupid videos). Maybe is was that snow that he shoved into his flux capacitor that made his exhaust V10 violently loud.
