I was just curious what you guys think.
I bought my car a few weeks ago. It's an 05 g35 6 speed. There was a stillen intake on it when I bought it. I just took off the stillen intake cover to clean the intake filter. Do I have to to put the intake cover back on (it pretty much covers the whole intake), or can I leave it off?
Thanks

You can leave it off but I would put it back on.
Our cars are know for heat soak problems and the cover helps stop hot air from reaching the intake.

Depends on what you're looking for. If you want to sacrifice performance for sound then leave it off, and vice versa.

Just put it back on.
Most of the sound comes from the cone filter, not the shroud, but I'm sure it'd be louder with it off.

Good Idea....^....Stillen's intake is about the only one that doesn't suffer for heat soak because of the box and what it's made of. It's also street legal in all states and has a CARB number....Originally Posted by TenZo520
