Berk HFC rasp?? :(

So I recently purchased Berk HFC from a fellow member to pair with my Stillen TD Exhaust. The HFC were in mint condition and I heard his setup right before he took off his HFC with no rasp. However, upon installing the Berks paired with my nismo, my car would rasp around 3.5k~5k under 1/2 throttle . What could be the problem? It's bugging me . Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance!

speaking of that ... haha probably not. I went to a shop in the OC where I met up with a fellow member and we just did a straight swap. Can that be the reason why it rasps? If so, what type of gaskets should I get?

So used gaskets are normally the cause of rasp? I believe they were fairly new still too. Only had ~4,500 miles on them

Rasp or hissss sound..i think the gaskets were to help hiss but you can give it a shot

If you have the hiss after installing HFCs it's due to poor quality gaskets or installing them incorrectly. If you need new gaskets get the OE from Nissan, make sure you match them up cause Nissan has the wrong info in their system. Rasp isn't caused by the addition of HFCs, they've just enhanced what was always there in your aftermarket exhaust system. Love my BERK'S with my HKS exhaust although I will be substituting the MAGNAFLOW crossover (x-pipe) just because it's a better mixer or crossover than the old school H pipe and worth a few HP!

So how would I get rid of the rasp then? I never heard rasp with my stillen exhaust prior to the install of the hfc.

Which Stillen exhaust do you have the real dual or the OE style single made by Magnaflow? This is a question you should ask Stillen, although they're nice people doubt they'll have an answer for you. You may have to live with what you have or buy a new exhaust system which is costly....I've had five different systems on my coupe luckily two were sponsored.

That's a good exhaust system, and my second. For the best advice and since you live in SoCal give my muffler guy a call 661-259-7098 his name is Dean and very knowledgeable. He's here in Valencia and open on Saturdays by appointment.
