SEDAN midpipe resonator

we all know that our sedans have huge resonators, that basically make up the whole midpipe...get that cut out, and weld a 2 1/2 inch straight pipe into it, and you go from 260 to around 268-270 horses...=]

I find that hard to believe but you never know. Do you have any proof that you can gain hp by doing that (DYNO). How does it sound?

basically the only "Proof" i have is being able to beat stock coupes...
the sound is a bit loud, i may get a small resonator put in to take out the buzzing...drone isn't too bad.

You should beat stock coupes. With the weight advantage of the sedan and the resonator taken out, your car is probably 125 lbs. lighter

There would have to be some crazy, insane baffles inside that thing to rob you of 15-20 hp... It's most likely just a straight through resonator, which would not cause you to lose any HP at all. Only thing you'd gain is weight savings.

infiniti is a luxury car, not neccasarily made to be driven fast, and upgraded...
there is a lot of things just in the exhaust system alone that decreases your power, the muffled the F*%& out of those cars. if you ever have your car on a lift, just take a small walk through of how everything is set-up, it will surprise you...

loosing the muffler as well might make the hp gain accurate sense its a brick as well...IMO straight pipes sound horrible on sedans. Noob should search for coup mid pipe

I've had my car on a lift many times. It all looks straight-through to me on the sedan. If anything, the coupe exhaust is likely more restrictive. The muffler on it has baffles inside and the piping makes a 90 degree turn before exiting out the tips.

Sedans are made more restrictive.
They have the SAME engine as the coupe. We all know the. Vq35de
They make sedans more restricted because it's a SEDAN.
I did put a smaller muffler on and got a really nice sound.
Still got the stock dual tip look though
